8th Annual Fall Fest Sept 16-18, 2016

Verna's Tree

Just when summer starts to wane and you think the last boat in Bemus has been docked or the final fireworks display is nothing but smoke trails, it’s time to get ready for the Bemus Point Fall Fest. The whole village is decorated with corn stalks and scarecrows to set the stage. It is time to let summer slowly sail away and to welcome the pleasures of autumn. This year the festivities will be September 16th -18th.

Fall Fest is a Bemus tradition sponsored by the Bemus specialty shops. Did you know that Bemus has 12 specialty shops? Each one is different and each one is run by passionate, creative people who search the planet for wonderful goods. These shops are unique custom designed indie stores that are scattered throughout the town.

During Fall Fest, each participating store offers a “Pick-a-leaf” discount as part of the weekend celebration. This means that once happy shoppers have collected what they would like to purchase, they pick a fall leaf from a cluster at each shop. No peeking. The leaf has a discount clearly marked on it ranging from 5-50% off. The discount is applied to the customer’s entire order at the register when they check out at each location. Some stores feature refreshments and fall decorations, and others host in-store events. Restaurants feature delicious fall dishes and drinks designed specifically for the fest.

In addition to the stores and restaurants of Bemus, there is a petting zoo that sets up on Saturday and Sunday in front of the Musky Mall. Children and adults are fascinated by the interesting animals that visit the town. Carriage rides that tour the village are also very popular. Kettle Korn is popping in the streets and vendor booths are sprinkled through the village.

Live music is also part of the tradition. Sometimes it is on the floating stage but some years musicians wander through the town or set up on the street. Come rock with Dan Vogan in front of Cappola’s during the weekend.

This event is a great way to see what is new at the stores and to explore the stalls. It is a perfect way to get out and enjoy the lush colors, crisp air, and all the joys of the harvest season.

We are Open and Celebrating our 10th. Anniversary.

Its our 10th anniversary at Imagine! and we want to celebrate all season long with our wonderful customers. Sign up for the news letter and get in on our specials. Also, watch our Facebook and Twitter pages for information about anniversary saleselaine coyne bracelets and events.

Imagine! is 10 years old we feel all grown up. As many of you know, we started out as a café and knit shop with many beautiful hand-made items from around the country and around the county. We have slowly changed. First our café gave way to more artisan crafted gifts. And this year we are excited to announce that our shop is entirely about American and Canadian made fine gifts in every price range. We also sprinkled in some Fair trade and we do have a few select items that are imported ( about 20%). All season long we will be celebrating our anniversary with specials and with some fun events. Visit us frequently on our website or better yet, sign up for our news letter on the front page. We promise not to bombard you but we also promise to let you know when something good is going on. Another way to stay in touch is on our Facebook page and on Twitter where we post almost daily. So much is happening in Bemus this season and so much has happened at Imagine over the winter. We have completely remodeled our store, it is much more upscale and gallery-like and we are so proud of it. Even we were surprised by the changes. Come see. And we have found the most wonderful artists with truly unique gifts. We are  open daily starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day 10-5.

Change Coming Spring 2016 for Our Tenth Anniversary

vernThis is our tenth anniversary, change is part of the fun for the future at Imagine!

Imagine! opened in May 2006. There have been many meaningful experiences at the shop, the most important is getting to know the many wonderful friends we have made over the years.

There has also been on-going change. We started with a coffee shop-café with a knit and bead shop, classes and a few gifts. Then we closed the café and added more and more artisan crafted gifts.

This season, we are doing some remodeling that we feel will make the shop even better( pictured is Vern Johnson, working very hard on our new floor). We  are also shifting our focus in our tenth year. We will not have classes or sell yarn and beads, though it was fun and we loved it. There are so many great places to find these items and instructions locally and on line that didn’t exist when we opened. Every day we are listing more and more yarn and needle/notions and books from our inventory on our Ebay store at  great discounts.  You can shop these bargains if  you  click “Shop” on our website. You can also access our Etsy store that way.

The Future

I am so enthusiastic about a new direction for us. We will be focusing on hand-crafted American  gifts, jewelry,  art-to wear, pottery, glass, one-of-a-kind items. These have been featured at Imagine! since the beginning but we are expanding our offerings. We will have more from studios in Chautauqua county and throughout the US and Canada. In addition, we will continue to have Fair Trade items. We are very excited to share our fresh 2016 finds with you this season starting May 13! If you have questions or comments please add them below. Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back  to Imagine! during  the village-wide annual Bemus is Blooming event May13-15 2016.

We are excited about the upcoming season.

This season, after having a very successful surgery and getting my energy back, I am happy to say I’m looking forward to opening the shop. One of my favorite things to do is shop for the store. This year we are bringing back some of our favorites and we have also found some new, fresh items. Here is a sneak preview of a few of our finds.Atenti Bag 2cloverIMG_2705photo (57) Pink Leather

Thank You, See you Spring 2016

thankyou

Thank you for a wonderful season.

Thank you for a wonderful Season, we will see you again in the spring. I usually keep the shop open until New Years’ Eve but this year I have to have surgery ( the prognosis is very good) so I closed the shop early. Meantime, we are trying to list some things on our site through the “shop” button which will take you to our new Etsy shop. We are learning how to sell some of our great items from the store and I am sure we are on a steep learning curve. Please be patient because I’m determined to figure it out.

Meantime, we hope to stay in touch online, If you haven’t signed up for the newsletter and would like be on our email list, you can do that on our website or our Facebook page. We promise only to send you something every 5 weeks. Hope you are having a fun fall season. Myriamthankyou
